Kauai Farmer's Markets - Part 2 THE GUIDE

Aloha, here are some highlights for most of the markets around the island.  Check out what's in season and support your local farmers!

Monday.
South Side: Koloa ballpark Noon til 1ish

This is my go to farmers market for delicious local fruits and veggies. 

It's  a small market and some of the produce sells out quick. Be sure to get there early so you don't miss out!

Tuesday.
North shore: Waipa market (Hanalei across from Lumahai beach) 2pm
Check out the lasagna guy!

West Side: Small market up in Kalaheo at 3:30pm to 4'ish
Turn on to Papalina road off the highway and take first left in to parking lot.

Wednesday.
Kukuiula culinary market 3:30 to 6pm

This is like the other farmers market except they call it a "culinary" market because the fancy shopping centers restaurants add a few food and drink stand options.  Fun way to spend the afternoon.  Grab a fresh coconut water, try the samples (mmm... local honey!), maybe indulge in a Mai Tai or Margarita, pick up the best steaks in Kauai from Ranchers Daughters Reserve to go with fresh veggies to grill up for dinner later on at the beach.

Thursday.
West Side: Hanapepe farmers market 3pm to 4ish

North Side: Kilauea 4:30pm  

Friday.

South: the Warehouse, Lawai.  Some produce, crafts, bread, local grass fed beef, food truck and shave ice 10am to 2pm
Lihue Vidinda Stadium farmers market 3pm to 4ish

Saturday.

Kauai Community College market in Puhi 9:30am to 1'ish

One of the larger markets on Kauai with plenty of fruit and veggie options along with some food trucks.  Keep an eye out for the Lawai Valley mushroom guy; the fresh oyster mushrooms are excellent fried up with some butter and rosemary.  Midnight Bear Bread makes the best bread around, all organic and mostly naturally leavened artisan breads. Their croissants and pastries are perfect too!

North Side: Hanalei Farmers market 9:30am to Noon'ish

Great north shore market for produce plus some crafts and jewelry.  There's usually some live music to enjoy while you walk around in one of the loveliest mountain settings around.
